Here’s a foundational truth to carry with us into 2025 and the days that follow.

God has plans for our prosperity—not just in our personal lives but also in the marketplace where we are called to be light.

How we show up matters, and the Word of God assures us that His plans are filled with hope and purpose.

Here's what the bible says …

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

As you meditate on this promise and hide it in your heart, I encourage you to take a moment to listen to a guided meditation I’ve prepared just for this season.

It's called “Rise Above” and it's my hope that will be a resource in your prayerful mediation as you begin the year seeing your future with fresh eyes and courageous faith, anchoring your vision in God’s purpose for your life.

Dear Heavenly Father – Thank You for the gift of new beginnings. Lead me to walk boldly in alignment with Your vision for my life and work. We've covered topics to help us look past distractions and work through doubts —seeing ourselves as God does: created in His image, fully equipped, and entirely worthy.

Now, let's shift our attention to a foundational spiritual principle: surrender.

Let's contemplate how surrendering our plans to God's will—including our career and business plans—transcends words and becomes a true expression of our faith and trust in God. This message is important, I wrote it for us. #xo

We'll start with FAITH.

Scripture tells us that “faith without works is dead” (James 2:26). The “works” that show our faith come alive as we show up, create, and serve those who are called to us both in business and our personal lives. But faith isn’t just about what we do; it’s also about trusting God to guide our steps, shine light on our path, and lead our way. This is our surrender.

As Faithgineers, we strive for profitable results that also contribute to making the earth more like heaven. Our goal is to experience abundance in its fullness—abundance in life, abundance at work, and abundance in business.

Living in the fullness of abundance, which brings joy and peace—not anxiety or comparing ourselves to others—requires recognizing that abundance is not solely created by our efforts but flows from alignment with God’s will and purpose for us in Him.

The Bible teaches us that “God will give you the desires of your heart” when you align your heart and actions with His righteousness and His will (read Psalm 37:4). This is a promise, and I believe it to be true.

As a Faithgineer, know this: Surrendering your hopes for your life, business, or career to God doesn’t mean losing control. It means releasing your ego and aligning your desires with God’s purpose in you. Through this alignment –peace, wisdom, and unexpected blessings manifest in ways that are beyond even your wildest imagination. This shows our faith.

Let's FOCUS a key intersection.

The intersection between surrender and strategy is where kingdom-class businesses align with purpose and thrive. Plans, processes, systems, and standard operating procedures are essential, but they must be created and implemented with faith-filled hands.

In my worldview, “faith-filled hands” represent the mindset and approach for our Christ-centered journey through life and the marketplace. This looks like being open to receiving God’s guidance, faithful in acting on it, and willing to leave our results with Him. Focus keeps our hands productive and our hearts hopeful.

Here's how to implement faithful focus in your life and business …

• Visualize and establish your goals through prayer.
• Develop systems that honor your time and energy.
• Build workflows that simplify your processes and serve your clients and customers with excellence.

As you implement these action items, release everything to God—your worries, your need to control every detail, and even your expectations. Trust that God will honor your steadfastness in seeking His righteousness and exercising your faith in ways far greater than you can ever imagine.

Know this: God is faithful to multiply your Work (with a capital W) through paths known only to Him. Prepare for battle in the marketplace and life, but let God fight for you. As Exodus 14:14 promises:

“[t]he Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

FLOW comes from trusting God in all things.

When you show up with faithful focus – surrendering your heart and mind to the Lord – you allow yourself to experience divine flow. This spirit-filled surrender and the resulting flow isn’t passive; instead, it gives you the freedom to move in rhythm with God’s will, purpose, and perfect timing.

Scripture promises that God will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in him. (Read Isaiah 26:3 and believe it).

Perfect peace comes from surrender—knowing you’ve done your bit and trusting God with the rest. It’s about releasing expectations to God, knowing He is already at Work for your good.

1. Reflect on where you need to surrender more in your plans.
2. Describe one area where you’ll pray, plan, execute, and then release.
3. Hit reply and share your thoughts about surrender—I’d love to hear from you.

My Prayer for you and me too.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the gift of surrender and the peace that flows from trusting You completely. Help us to release our worries, our need for control, and our expectations into Your care. Guide our steps in business and life, aligning our plans with Your purpose. Help us serve those called to us in life and business with faith-filled hands and hearts full of hope, always trusting that You are at Work on our behalf in ways we cannot yet see.

The horizon of possibility can feel distant and unattainable, but faith invites us to lift our gaze and see it with hope, vision, and courage.

Seeing possibility on the horizon is what this photo I took of Lisboa brings to mind.

Over the past few messages, we’ve explored how reflections, perspectives, and circumstances shape how we see ourselves and our journeys—both in life and the marketplace.

This message is intended to support you in bringing what seems distant in the horizon into your reality, now.

Let's go to the Word.

The Bible tells us to –

“[l]ift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name.” – Isaiah 40:26

For me, this verse highlights that we serve a God who is both intentional in His creation and purposeful in His plans. Just as He calls each star by name, God knows the path He has prepared for you and me—a path filled with opportunities, hope, and divine purpose.

Let’s deconstruct this truth using our Faith, Focus & Flow framework.

FAITH: Lift Your Gaze

The cover art for this message draws our attention to both what is near and what lies in the distance. Up close, the branches could seem to limit our perspective, but they can also be seen as framing a beautiful horizon and inviting us to lift our gaze beyond what’s immediately in front of us.

The practice of lifting our gaze is a powerful exercise in faith—helping us trust that God is at work, even when we can’t see the full picture.

Faith calls us to look beyond our immediate circumstances, believing that God is aligning opportunities, shaping experiences, and preparing a path through the marketplace filled with hope and abundance.

FOCUS: Clear Your Vision

Where is your focus right now? Are you caught up in the weight of temporary challenges, distractions, or fears?

Sometimes, what appears to block our view—like branches reaching across our path—can actually frame it, guiding us to shift our perspective. When we pause, step back, and lift our gaze, we often uncover the beauty and opportunities God is aligning just beyond the horizon.

FLOW: Step Forward with Hope

The horizon holds promise, but stepping toward it requires faith and courage. Don’t let fear, uncertainty, or self-doubt hold you back. Trust that God is already ahead of you—clearing the way, preparing the path, and guiding you toward His purpose. Move forward boldly and courageously, knowing He is with you every step of the way.

What small, bold step can you take today to move toward your horizon, trusting that God will guide you to what’s next in His perfect time?

Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank You for being the Creator of all possibilities and the Divine Engineer of my path through life and the marketplace. I am grateful that Your wisdom, strength, and favor are always available—guiding my steps, covering my journey, and aligning the desires of my heart with Your perfect will. Help me lift my eyes above what’s directly in front of me and trust that the path You’ve prepared on the horizon is covered by Your grace. Let’s get into it.

God’s Holy Word says:

“For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.” – 1 Corinthians 13:12

While 1 Corinthians 13:12 speaks to our limited knowledge and understanding of God, it is also a powerful analogy for self-reflection—a reminder of how limited and inaccurate we are when we base our thoughts about ourselves completely on what we see (or even worse – what our naysayers see).

Here’s an important truth: While our human understanding is limited, especially when it comes to fully appreciating what we see in the mirror, God sees us completely—past, present, and future—through the lens of His divine love, grace and purpose for our lives.

Let’s step into this truth a bit more using our Faith, Focus & Flow framework.

FAITH: See Yourself Clearly

Reflections reveal much, but they never show the whole story. Just as a mirror captures only a limited view, our lives at any given moment reflect just a small portion of God’s divine plan for our lives and our work in the marketplace—a plan that includes a future filled with hope, purpose, and promise.

When you find yourself dishonoring yourself and God by comparing your journey through life and the marketplace to others (or doubting your ability to accomplish what God has planted in your heart), pause and remember this –> What you perceive is limited, but what God sees is eternal—past, present, and future.

God sees you, loves you deeply, and has equipped you with everything you need to succeed, including His everlasting love and grace. You were created in the image of God, and in Him, you are more than enough.

FOCUS: Align Your Perspective

When you look at your reflection, what do you see?

Are you fixated on flaws, or do you honor the growth and transformation God is cultivating within your heart, soul, and mind?

Shift your focus to align with what God says about you in His Word. You are seen, loved, and chosen by Him. His plans for you are good—plans to give you hope, purpose, and a future that reflects His love and grace.

FLOW: Move with Grace

Let God’s perspective anchor you. He knows where you’re headed and the purpose He established for you before the foundation of the world. Walk forward with confidence, boldness, and courage, knowing you are a work in progress—and right where you are is preparation for where God is leading you next.

Heavenly Father –

As we approach the end of a season, it’s important to look back before looking forward—but only to learn, not to dwell. Reflect on what you’ve accomplished, the lessons you’ve learned, and the opportunities you’ve embraced.

Ask yourself:

• What will I do differently now that I know better?
• How will I use the time, money, and resources I have today more intentionally?
• What will I change now that I’ve gained new experiences, contacts, and insights—or have endured loss?

Write down your vision. Use the wisdom you’ve learned from the past —not fears, regrets, or doubts – to plan your future. Let your vision be fueled by hope and the promises we have in Jesus for an abundant life.

Here’s something to remember about writing down your vision: when you put it into words, your vision becomes a map that guides you forward—and makes it clear who isn’t meant to walk this season with you.

Similarly, building systems in our businesses requires thoughtful planning and intention.

Just as the bridges and buildings in Paris reflect care and purpose, the systems we create should be designed to support and sustain our Work (with a capital W), enabling us to serve with integrity while creating freedom in our day-to-day lives.

Building systems with integrity starts with intention. It means creating processes that deliver on your promises and reflect care for your clients, your team, and even yourself as the owner, founder, manager, or executive. It’s about running your business in a way that glorifies God by doing things decently and in order (1 Corinthians 14:40).

Here’s the good news: With the power of digital technology and tools like Artificial Intelligence, we can design systems that not only honor God but also expand our impact, influence, and income through diversified revenue.

Let’s go further using our Faith, Focus & Flow framework:

FAITH: Commit to Integrity

Building systems with integrity means thinking about every stakeholder—clients, customers, staff, online community, and even yourself. Are you building processes that reflect honesty, care, and excellence? Integrity in business starts with committing to serve well in every aspect, big and small.

1. Client Onboarding and Offboarding: Make it seamless for clients to start and end their journey with you.
2. New Employee/Contractor Onboarding and Offboarding: Set your team up for success with clear, repeatable steps.
3. Online Publishing (and Self-Publishing): Use streamlined systems to share your knowledge, grow your online audience, and diversify revenue.
4. Project Management: Keep projects and tasks organized and ensure accountability with tools that simplify collaboration.
5. Community Engagement: Implement systems for sending personalized holiday cards, birthday greetings, or special gifts to strengthen relationships. Also streamline replies to direct mesages from your online community and emails from subscribers.

The end of one year and the beginning of the next is a perfect time to assess your systems and make improvements. Great systems create freedom in your day and space in your life. They allow you to work smarter, serve better, and stay aligned with your vision, mission and goals.

Just as the bridges and roads in Paris help direct travelers with efficiency and purpose, your systems can guide your business with clarity and intention. Let this be the season where you commit to doing things decently and in order—not just for efficiency but to glorify God in the process.

It’s easy to be faith-filled and optimistic when things are going well. This can look like our Work (with a capital W) in the marketplace mirroring our vision, and our lives reflecting our hopes, plans, and prayers. In these moments, extending grace and embodying the fruits of the Spirit feels natural.

But what about when challenges arise? How do we respond when things don’t go as planned, when teams underperform, or when clients and customers don’t respond as we’d hoped?

These are the moments that test us. They also offer our greatest opportunities to learn, grow, and influence others. These moments remind us that in our most challenging times, we are called to be light—not only to encourage ourselves but also to model Christ-centered behavior for others.

This is how we live out the instruction in Matthew 5:16:

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Here’s something to remember about being light: To be light doesn’t mean to be naive. The Bible calls us to be “gentle as doves and wise as serpents” (Matthew 10:16). As we embody light while also extending grace to ourselves and others, we must be wise—learning lessons, making adjustments, and walking forward with intention and discernment.

Let’s explore this further using our Faith, Focus & Flow framework:

FAITH: Trusting God’s Purpose

When life and business feel challenging, it’s easy to be overcome by fear, frustration, or doubt. Faith calls us to trust that God is working, regardless of whether what we see around us seems good or bad. What we see is never a full reflection of what God is doing behind the scenes or what He is preparing for us in the future.

Know this—working through challenges refines and equips us to walk more boldly and courageously in our purpose throughout the marketplace.

A Question for Your Journal: 

In what areas of your life or business do you need to lean more into faith and trust, believing that God is using challenges to refine and equip you for your marketplace purpose in Him?

FOCUS: Making Wise Choices

Faith isn’t passive—it requires your “works” to be alive. We are called to not only be light in darkness but also make wise decisions as we navigate challenges. This can look like establishing better boundaries, clarifying instructions, re-evaluating priorities, or learning lessons that help us grow wiser.

In what areas of your life or business do you need to make wiser decisions based on the challenges you’re encountering?

FLOW: Extending Grace

Grace allows us to keep moving forward without being burdened by the weight of perfection- either for ourselves, our team, or our clients and customers. Grace gives us the freedom to learn and grow, to forgive, and to keep moving forward, even when the path forward is less than ideal. Grace is what we extend to others and ourselves, too – even while we are learning lessons, establishing boundaries, and making changes – because it is what God gives us.

Faithgineer Venus, challenges are part of our life’s journey, but they’re also opportunities. Let’s rise to our opportunity to model the character of Christ by being light, walking in wisdom, and extending grace to ourselves and those around us. I'm praying this pray for you and me too!

Heavenly Father ~ Thank You for the challenges that shape us and the opportunities they bring to grow in faith, wisdom, and grace. Help us rise to these moments with courage, being light in the darkness for those around us. Grant us the wisdom to walk purposefully in Your will and the understanding to extend grace to ourselves and others.

As I look at this photo, I am reminded of the life lessons it represents. These Olympians didn’t just show up on race day and win; they trained, trusted each other, and stayed focused. Their journey is a beautiful illustration of how we’re called to run our own races—with faith, purpose, and determination.

1. FAITH: Run Your Race with Purpose

Champion athletes step into their arena ready for victory. They train for victory, plan for victory, and give their sport everything they have.

This focus and effort brings to mind Hebrews 12:1:

“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”

Here’s a question for your journal:

Are you preparing with intention to run and win the race God has called you to in the marketplace? What one thing will you do today to prepare to win?

2. FOCUS: Build Your Team with Wisdom

Talitha, Abby, Gabby, and Sydney didn’t win gold alone. A relay is all about teamwork and trust—each runner must pass the baton with precision and rely on her teammates to finish strong. In life, we get to choose our teammates—people who inspire, challenge, and run alongside us as we pursue our purpose.

Our teammates include staff, clients, customers, friends, and family—and sometimes, family isn’t just by blood relation – it also includes people we choose to be in our lives. These are the folks who show up, support us, and help us evolve into our best self. Each person on our team plays a role in helping us fulfill our purpose, and we have a supporting role to play in their purpose journey too. Teamwork is built on trust and shared vision. Winning is not just about reaching the finish line but running in a way that honors God.

Here’s another question for your journal: 

Who are your teammates in this season, and how are you supporting each another as you run to win?

God didn’t design us to run alone. Just as champion athletes need their team (teammates, coaches, and supporters too) in order to achieve significant success, we too are called to intentionally build and nurture our relationships with purpose-driven people.

3. FLOW: Keep Moving Toward Your Goal

Champions do not let distractions derail them. Their eyes are on their goals, and their minds on victory. Relentless focus is critically important as we pursue God's plans for our abundant future.

Here’s a final question for your journal:

As we close out this message, I’m praying this prayer for you.

Dear God – Thank You for being the ultimate Creator, designing a unique purpose and race for each of us to win in the marketplace. We ask for Your guidance to help us prepare with intention, build a team with a heart for You and a spirit of excellence, and stay focused on Your will as we run the race You’ve set before us in our lives and businesses.

Grant us the strength to finish well so we may serve others in a way that reflects heaven in the marketplace and brings glory to Your name.

We ask for these things in the name of your son Jesus. — Amen.
