Feeling Stuck, Depressed or Anxious About Your Work?

Replace your feelings with His will.

As founders, owners, and leaders with a great big vision for what we want to accomplish in the world through our lives and our Work, it can be difficult to be at peace during seasons in which we are called to do things we don't want to do.

Matthew 7:24-29 provides a perspective for how important it is to listen to God and stay within His grace and timing, regardless of what you think your heart desires.

Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn't collapse, because its foundation was on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and doesn't act on them will be like a foolish man built his house on the sand. The rain fell, the rivers rose, the winds blew and pounded that house, and it collapsed. It collapsed with a great crash. Matthew 7:24-29

Sometimes you've got to be in specific positions or do certain jobs long enough to build a foundation that will support your vision for the long term. Sometimes, you've got to flourish where you are to be appropriately positioned for what's next.

Flourishing where you are is not easy when you want to be somewhere else in your career or business, but it is necessary.

Activate Your Biblically-Sound Business Thinking

If you find yourself struggling to find peace and contentment in your current assignment, while you are ambitiously pursuing what is next for you and your Work, I encourage you to make time to just sit still and be with our Lord.

Be prayerful that God will make your path clear, then trust that when you are committed to pursuing God, all things are working in your favor.

When you hear from the Lord, decide to stay focused on what you've been assigned to do, knowing that nothing is wasted with God. Your assignment today is to build a strong foundation for tomorrow.

Now that you know how to fight through unproductive feelings about your Work, what will you do?

I feel like I had a nice still, calm moment with God today as I sat on my front porch, no phone or electronics, and just listened to nature as I relaxed. I know God spoke to me as I remembered some very important things I needed to do. I recommend that everyone who sits with the Lord to step away from the internet and the phones/devices and be distraction free. You’ll be amazed at what you will hear.

Matthew 7:24-29 is such a powerful message. Great post, and I feel it is speaking to me at this time in my life.
