Are You Heading to Disgrace?

  • Save

Don't be disgraced by arrogance.

When arrogance comes, disgrace follows, but with humility comes wisdom. Proverbs 11:2

As a business leader, a lot rides on your shoulders.

  • Your team looks to you for guidance and leadership.
  • Clients and customers look to you for expertise.
  • The industry looks to you for best practices and modeling righteous behavior in business and life.

If you're going enjoy sustainable success, you've got to know your stuff and be confident in sharing it, regardless of what others say or think. Success as a business leader requires you to know that you know what you know. 🙂

Here's what's also true ….

Success in business requires you to know that you do not know everything.

Business leaders who enjoy sustainable success understand that some people are better than they are in some areas, and they delegate projects and tasks accordingly. Successful business owners, who have time to enjoy their lives, work well with their teams.

Business leaders who enjoy sustainable success reject the arrogance of “knowing everything about everything.” These leaders walk with the humility of knowing God has blessed them to be surrounded by talented people who want to use their God-given skills, talents and gifts.

Christ-centered business leaders shun self-centeredness. Instead, they embrace giving team members opportunities to shine and showcase their brilliances.

Smart business leaders delegate based on skill and talent, they do not micro-manage.

The book of Proverbs tells us that from disgrace follows arrogance, but wisdom flows from humility. Business leaders with longevity understand that disgrace is around the corner for those who are not always actively curious about how to get better results and humble enough to learn from those around them.

Lasting success in business requires wisdom.

Proverbs 11:2 tells you how to get it.
