Stamina & Self-Control: Our Winning Combination

One of my favorite things about writing this post is sharing bible-based inspiration to help you more confidently and boldly do what you know you're capable of, even when you are feeling discouraged.

What I share in these messages helps me continue to press forward – sometimes with the wind beneath my wings and other times pulling myself through discouragement.

Regardless of what I'm feeling at any given moment, what I know for sure is that the path to living your best life in business (regardless of whether full-time or part-time) is not always easy – BUT it is always worth it.

The people we serve need our gifts, talents and skills … and our lives are made richer (financially and spiritually) because we share for both profit and charity too. Now, let's get into today's message.

Be Anchored in Your FAITH

Here's what the Word of God says.

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.” – 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Paul reminds us that the stakes in our race—both in life and business—are high. While others may chase temporary rewards, our sights are set on an eternal prize. In business, this looks like value-added experiences, products, programs, and even content – that has a positive impact. This deep sense of purpose drives us forward, even when challenges and obstacles arise.

Hone Your FOCUS

In our pursuit of success through business, we will undoubtedly face moments when we feel weary, when it feels like even keeping up is a challenge, and winning is impossible. This is natural.

Here's some good news:

Our feelings don't determine our outcomes. Instead, our response to our feelings is what matters to our sustainable success.

We win, always, when we summon our inner stamina, fortify our mindset, and remind ourselves why we started this race of having an impact through business and the marketplace.

We strengthen our summoning, fortification, and remembering through what we see, hear, and where we focus our attention. Therefore … be mindful about what you allow close to you. Protect your space. Protect your peace. Protect your faith and focus.

Find Your FLOW

With committed stamina, a focus on what matters, and self-control, we do not merely survive in business and our careers; we thrive.

Let's shift our perspective so we are always focused on the main focus – using our journey to make an impact that positively impacts the lives of others.

When challenges arise, instead of seeing them as insurmountable obstacles, view them as opportunities to strengthen your resolve and to develop resilience.

With each step forward, no matter how small, you get closer to the finish line, closer to the crown that lasts forever. We accomplish this here on the earth when we continuously push ourselves to add value in a way that generates wealth, builds legacy, and inspires joy through serving people and honoring God.
