Let's talk about overwhelm and overflow, feelings that are very real and very necessary to manage and direct for your prosperity and peace.
REALITY | We are human …
During this time of the year, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and depleted from all we are expected to give to our family, staff, teams, clients, customers, community (and so on and so forth …. #lol) as one year comes to a close and another begins.
And so, it is essential for us leaders and builders (aka Faithgineers) to develop a process and practice to consistently fill our internal cups and nurture our Spirits, so we can give from our overflow and not any overwhelm.
TRUTH | Here's what the Word says …
Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.' John 7:38
INSTRUCTION | An idea for your consideration …
The Word says living water will flow from the hearts of those who believe in God. And so, I invite you to be aware of when you feel overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, nervous, fearful, and anything less than hopeful and filled with faith about your business, career, or life.
During these times especially, make time to be still and think about how much God loves you and how much you believe in his wisdom and promises as revealed through scripture. Meditate on what the Word says are God's promises to you, and remember how God has showed up for you in the past.
Then, take time to let yourself be filled with the presence of God, overwhelmed by his faithfulness in your life and Work thus far, and overflowing with gratitude for His grace and mercy towards you.
Let the love of Jesus fill your heart and mind until you are overflowing with thankfulness. Then, be intentional about sharing the love of Christ with someone in your family or business through a deliberate act of kindness or grace.
Make it your top priority to make time and create space to repeat this exercise frequently until you feel the constant presence of God's love with you; then, make this exercise an ongoing personal practice for your peace and prosperity in life + business.
ACTION | A few practical next steps …
Ask God to make clear how He would like for you to show as a vessel through which others can experience the living water that flows from your heart during this month of December, in particular. Give yourself time and mental space to hear from the Lord; act on what God shows you without delay.
