Life's most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others? Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This question from Dr. King is essential for evaluating the fruit of our lives and our businesses too.

A corresponding Biblical principle for your life and Work (including business) is this:

Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” 2 Corinthians 9:6

Key Questions for Your Work;

  1. What are you sowing into your team? (Think training, opportunities, and compensation.)
  2. What are you sowing into your clients and customers? (Consider the quality and value of your business offerings.)
  3. What are you sowing into your industry? (Think thought-leadership, mentorship and internship opportunities.)
  4. What are you sowing into your community? (Think service on boards, charitable contributions, and sponsorships.)

The things you do today builds profitable Work (businesses, careers, vocations, etc.) for today.

The effort and thoughtfulness you sow into tomorrow builds sustainable businesses and legacy-building Work (businesses and reputations) that serve for generations to come.

Exercise Your Faith + Flow & Flow:

Invest some time today considering:

  • How much you are sowing into the areas described above;
  • In what areas you need to see improvement in impact; and
  • How you can adjust your generosity in sowing so that eventually you will reap bountifully in that area.

Now, here's a caveat: sowing and reaping is not tit for tact.

You may not immediately reap from where you've sowed, and you may not read in the same season in which you sowed.

However … if you build the Biblical principle of sowing and reaping into your business practices, you'll find that seasons of reaping become commonplace from both expected and unexpected places and ways.

Start tracking your increase in generous sowing and let us know how your business starts to shift this time next year.
