Are You Praying for Success?

Facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterestlinkedin

Are you being intentional and disciplined about praying for success in business?

Building a Christ-centered business in a world that seems to reward ungodly behavior requires you to: (1) release your ego and pray for success, (2) acknowledge that lasting success comes only through following Christ, and (3) increase your levels of gratitude for all that God has allowed you to experience thus far.

Ego = Self-importance.

Begin the process of releasing your ego by acknowledging that lasting success comes only through Christ and praying for the Lord to grant you success.

Here’s the thing, some people in the world would lead you to believe there is something wrong with asking God for success through prayer; however, the Bible tells a different story.

In the book of Psalms, we have examples of coming to the Lord in his name and asking for success. One of many such examples is in Psalm 118.

Lord, save us! Lord, please grant us success. He who comes in the name of the Lord is blessed. Psalm 118:25-26

As a business leader who follows Christ, it’s important to start your day by asking God for success and continuing this practice throughout your day. Develop habits and use tools that help you develop a healthy reliance on God for wisdom and success.

For example, using our SMART Action Plan – SMART Goal Daily Planner will help you start and end your day with a focus on scripture, relationships and gratitude.

Exalt = Think or speak very highly of.

Building a business that follows the character of Christ is not limited to praying for success. It is also critically important to thank and exalt God for what is already happening (both big and small) as well as what you are expecting God to deliver.

You are my God, and I will give you thanks. You are my God; I will exalt you. Psalm 118:28

To give God thanks by using your words is great.

To give God thanks and exalt him through your personal and corporate ACTION is how to transform the lives around you.

A powerful way to thank and exalt God is through your personal and corporate culture. Click here to read our blog post with practical examples for building a Christ-centered culture at work.
