As someone who has successfully navigated the dual paths of building businesses throughout my journey through life, sometimes while being a full-time entrepreneur and caretaker – and at other times, while being a senior leader in government or corporate America, I have mastered the art and science of strategic integration.

I say integration, not balance – because I know that integration is the key to living a fruitful life filled with business and career success. And now, it’s my pleasure to share lessons from my journey with you.

Strategic integration is about aligning your time with your purpose so that your business ventures and career ambition complement and not compete with each other.

It’s also about establishing boundaries to comply with workplace restrictions and requirements for building a business while also advancing in your career.

Here’s what I know:

In Proverbs 16:3, the bible tells us to

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”

This biblical wisdom encourages us to align our work in our business ventures and our careers with our divine purpose, and it promises us that with faith, our plans in business and our careers will be established.

Here are 3 key strategies for strategically integrating your career and business ambitions into your life for purpose (first) and profit.

1. Create Focused Time Blocks: Allocate specific blocks of time to focus on your business and career, independently of each other. Using them helps you establish and track goals, optimize your productivity, and honor any boundaries required to separate your business ventures from your career workplace.

2. Network Strategically: Be intentional about developing and nurturing your community of like-minded, compassionate people who are flexible and open-minded enough to be supportive of your dual pursuits, and for whom it is a joy for you to encourage and support.

3. Serve Your Ideal Client Well: Focus relentlessly on serving your ideal client and target audience. Clarity about who you are called to serve ensures that your business efforts are targeted and effective, maximizing the impact of the time you invest in your business ventures to optimize productivity, impact, influence, and income through business revenue.

Now that we’ve covered what to do, let's affirm your ability to do it.

Read the words below and believe what you say.

“With grace and ease, I integrate my career and entrepreneurial passions into my fruitful life through faith, focus, and flow.”

Remember, your unique journey of integrating career excellence with entrepreneurial success is not just possible, it can be your destiny.
