The Necessity of Confidence

  • Save

Let's talk about the necessity of confidence.

Doing the Work that God has created for your life and business requires confidence.

Without confidence, it is impossible to:

  1. Really believe and trust that the desires God has placed in your heart are possible;
  2. Prevent naysayers (even those who love you) from discouraging you or otherwise weighing you down with the limits of their vision and experiences; or even
  3. Continue doing what is necessary to make your dreams come true with excited anticipation, even when the journey is long.

With confidence, all things are possible.

Here's how you can increase your confidence, so you can increase the capacity of your life and your business to serve people and build legacy wealth in a way that glorifies God.

1) Know that greater is possible and is ready to be unlocked at the right time.

2) Make good decisions based on the character of Jesus Christ, even when making character-based decisions appears to conflict with what looks to be good for business and/or easy for you.

3) Ask, knock, and otherwise seek out the destiny (through business, volunteerism, or your personal life) God has placed in your heart, even when sensible people tell you is it unreasonable, impracticable or impossible to do so.

4) Know that what other people think about you is of no concern to you when you are chasing Jesus and operating with Christ-like character in all things; and

5) Have peace that nothing is your life is wasted, all things are working for your good, and all the difficult & challenging tests you're passing are becoming testimonies that can and will transform the lives of others, which in turn transforms the world.

You, yes YOU, can transform the world. And, when you are confident, you have the power to stop anyone from telling you differently.

Here's the beauty and power of what I've just shared with you in this message. Everything I've written is based on the Word of God!

YOU, my friend, have the authority to make what I have written your reality. The Bible says so! I hope this makes you as excited as it makes me! (I am literally leaping for joy right now!).

Let's dig deeper into how you can build confidence God's way by walking through 5 bible verses and how they apply to your life and business.

Let's go.

1) Believe that all things are possible through Christ Jesus. Not some things, all things.

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

2) At the start of your day, before you even get out of bed, ask the Lord to guide your feet and direct your actions so that everything you do supports your purpose for being here on earth. Ask this of the Lord and trust that He hears you.

For the LORD will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared. Proverbs 3:26

3) Be confident in knowing that when you go to the Lord, He hears you. It's up to you to take a break from the busyness of your ambition to hear from Him.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 1 John 5:14

4) Believe in your heart that the visions, desires and dreams you have for your future (even those you had as a child), are good works begun by God. Trust God's Word as stated in Philippians 1:6 where it says God will carry out to completion what He began in you. Know that the completion God seeks can only happen if you keep going and do not give up.

[The good work reference in this bible passage includes making Christ-centered, CHARACTER-based decisions in business – so that your business can be a model of God's power, love, and grace, even when there are unethical behavior and crooked business transactions all around.]

Be confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6

5) When you hear from God in the quietness of your heart, do what God says to do. And, do what you do in a way that honors you (and your business practices) while glorifying God.

When you pursue Christ-like character in all you do, you are living in a state of righteousness (not perfection – for no one is perfect) that will bring a sense of calm and confidence to your life.

The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever. Isaiah 32:17

Can God Trust You?

The more confident you become, the more God can trust you with His Work for your life & business, and the blessings he wants to bestow upon you.

You have to ready for what God has planned and being confident is an essential part of being ready.

What's next?

A way to really internalize this process of becoming more confident is to write down each of these steps on index cards. Then, read them over and over again to encourage and empower you to be confident in Jesus so you can do the Work God has called you to do.

Give this Bible-based strategy for building your confidence a go and let me know how it blesses you. I want to hear from you.
