What every leader who follows Jesus must have
My son, do not lose sight of these – keep sound wisdom and discretion, and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck. Then you will walk on your Way securely, and your foot will not stumble. Proverbs 3:21-23
As you continue to use your gifts and do the Work God has assigned to you, hold tightly to both (1) wisdom and (2) discretion – and activate them at every opportunity.
Wisdom is the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment. Dictionary.com
Discretion is the quality of behaving or speaking in such a way as to avoid causing offense or revealing private information. Dictionary.com.
The practical benefits of wisdom and discretion at Work.
When we think about wisdom and discretion in the context of using our Christ-centered, biblically-sound, business thinking at Work, wisdom gives us peace as we make decisions that impact people and profits.
Discretion is what allows us to build relationships that can lead to opportunities beyond our wildest dreams.
Living and Working the FAITHgineer™ Way
Before taking any action at Work in your job, career or business – answer two important questions.
1) Will I be happy with this decision two days, two weeks, and two years from now?
Your answer to this question will help you make wise decisions.
2) Am I doing this in a way that has the most positive impact possible on the people and environments impacted by this decision – both now and later?
Your answer to this question will help you better exercise discretion.
Use these questions and your answers to make decisions and take actions at Work that will provide for today and serve the legacy you are building for tomorrow.
